10:45 Two workers, Mike Hallett and Andrew Latta arrived and worked until 12:00.

Returned at 2:00 pm and worked until 4:00 pm.

Joe briefly stopped at our home and said he was “quality control”, he had no questions and did not ask us if we had any questions. Joe provided no information but simply a meet and greet.

15:48 pm call from Terry.

November 15, 2017 –

No call no show, no communication with Diversified Group.

Visit to Maumee Building Permit office. At the front counter we spoke with Andy Glenn inquiring about the foundation permit and we were told that no permit had been pulled.

Bruce Wholf joined us at the counter and we informed Bruce and Andy that we were totally replacing our foundation they again stressed the importance of making sure the contractor pulls their own permit. We told them we understood and that Diversified Group should be coming in to submit their plans for approval and to obtain a building permit.

We explained to Bruce and Andy that the front porch would need to be removed from the home to facilitate a total replacement of the foundation.

We inquired about the permit required to rebuild our front porch and we presented drawings and photographs of the “old” porch and explained that we were going to restore the front porch to it’s ‘original’ glory.

Bruce looked at our ‘plans’ and told us that we would need 2 sets of dimensional drawings and rejected our request for a porch permit.

Bruce told us that if we needed to remove the porch to facilitate the total foundation replacement that we were permitted to remove the existing porch and that we would need the permit only to rebuild it.

We told Bruce that we would prepare 2 sets of comprehensive, dimensional drawings of the new ‘old’ porch and we would return.

In light of the fact that we explained that we were totally restoring our historic home, Bruce asked about our other permits needs.

We mentioned the plumbing, that we planned on doing it ourselves and Bruce replied,

“I don’t want to insult you, but are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

We stated we felt confident in our ability to meet minimum standards and Bruce stated that all that is required for a plumbing permit is just the number of fixtures. We provided the information Bruce asked for and he issued a us a plumbing permit (20170163).

The plumbing permit Bruce and Andy presented us was in the name of the previous owner “Gary Steinhurst”. We asked if per your previous conversation about the permit being in the contractors name and who is responsible for pulled permits, if because this permit is issued in the name of Gary Steinhurst if he will be held responsible for any problems with the plumbing.

Andy explained that the error is a result of their ‘system is not being updated’ and that they would be certain to fix the permit name on our plumbing permit to accurately reflect the reality of the situation.

Plumbing permit is still in the name of Gary Steinhurst.

November 16, 2017 –

10:11 Call to Terry

Mike Hallett and Andrew Latta arrived without a permit.

We explained that Bruce at the permit office explained to us that without a permit we could not proceed. We shut the site down with the two workers sent away.

Kevin arrived at my home and introduced himself as “The Engineer, who you have probably heard a lot about. ”I did not know who Kevin was and was totally unaware that he was the owner of the company, and in fact the man I contracted with to help save my home. It was not until after this meeting that I googled ‘Kevin Oberhouse’ and discovered he was doing business as Diversified Group.

Megan the permit should be ready but I believe they can work while paperwork is being finalized. I understand there was a misunderstanding Thursday but I believe things are back on track. Two different things were stated about permit process by building department. Sorry I’ve been out of the loop because of illness but will be there Monday.

Guys coming today, they are getting more materials, we are bringing the volvo excavator. The permit was approved they will bring a copy with them. They shouldn’t be expected until around noon. Tony one of our guys is going to be there soon to pickup the bobcat because he needs it. But they are definitely coming out today.
